If you want Zapiet Eats notifications to use your custom domain as the sender, authenticate it with DKIM. DMARC lets your domain request how receiving mail servers handle messages that fail authentication.
Until DKIM is verified, Zapiet Eats uses its platform sending address and puts your configured sender address in Reply-To.
Copy each hostname and value exactly as shown in Zapiet Eats when adding the records to your domain.
Before you begin
In Settings > Notifications, set Sender email to an address on the domain you control.
You need access to DNS for that domain. In Shopify Admin that is often Settings > Domains. If the domain is hosted elsewhere, use that DNS host.
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to appear.
Open DKIM settings
In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > Notifications.
Under General settings, click DMARC/DKIM.
The page heading is DKIM/DMARC.
Add the DKIM record
In DKIM/DMARC Settings, copy the Hostname Zapiet Eats shows.
Copy the Value Zapiet Eats shows. The Type is TXT.
In your DNS host, add a TXT record.
Paste the hostname into the name or host field.
Paste the value into the value field.
Save the record in your DNS host.
Return to Zapiet Eats and click Verify.
When verification succeeds, Zapiet Eats shows DKIM is verified.
If verification fails, check that the hostname and value match the fields in Zapiet Eats. Wait for DNS to update, then click Verify again.
Add the DMARC record
In DMARC DNS Settings, use Choose what to do with emails that fail DMARC verifications to select a policy:
None: request monitoring without a DMARC enforcement action. This does not guarantee delivery.
Quarantine: request that receiving mail servers treat failed messages as suspicious.
Reject: request that receiving mail servers reject failed messages.
Optionally enter an Email address to receive DMARC reports.
Copy the Hostname and Value Zapiet Eats shows for DMARC.
In your DNS host, add a TXT record with those values.
Save the DNS record with your DNS provider.
Return to Zapiet Eats and click Save to keep the policy and reporting email settings.
Click Verify.
When verification succeeds, Zapiet Eats shows DMARC is verified.
