A menu is the list of items customers can order for Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in. You design the menu once, then assign it to each location that should offer it.
Customers only see a Published menu at locations where it is assigned and scheduled. A Draft menu stays hidden until you publish it.
Before you begin
Add at least one location.
Have the Shopify products you want to sell ready in your store.
Create a menu
If you have no menus yet, Zapiet Eats shows No menus yet. If you already have a menu you want to use, open it from Menus instead of creating another.
To create a new menu:
In Zapiet Eats, go to Menus.
Click Create a menu.
Enter a Menu name. Use a name customers will recognize, such as Breakfast or Dinner.
Click Save.
Zapiet Eats opens Design a menu. You can start from a suggested menu when the app offers one.
Add sections and products
Organize the menu into sections, then add Shopify products to each section.
On Design a menu, click Add section.
Enter a Section name.
Click Create section.
In the section, add Shopify products with Add items.
Repeat for each section you need.
Click Save.
The product picker adds whole products, including their variants; it does not let you select individual variants for a section.
Empty sections do not help customers. Add at least one product to a section before you publish the menu.
Generate sections with AI
If Generate with AI or Generate menu is available, you can let Zapiet Eats organize your Shopify products into sections.
Save any existing menu changes.
Click the generation button and wait for the result.
In Your menu is ready, click Review first to check the proposed sections and products.
Rename or reorder sections, remove unsuitable items, and check the product details.
Click Save on the menu page. If the generated result is already correct, Save menu in the result dialog also saves it.
If your menu starts generating automatically, wait for Your menu is ready, then follow steps 3–5 above to review and save it.
Review the result before publishing. Generation does not replace checking location assignment or the menu schedule.
Assign the menu to a location
A menu is not available to customers until it is assigned to a location.
In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.
Open the location from Locations.
In Menus, click Select menu.
Select the menu in the dialog.
Click Add menu to the location.
If this location has no menus yet and none exist in the store, click Create a menu from the location instead.
On Design a menu, Zapiet Eats may also prompt you to assign the menu to a location. Use that prompt when it appears.
After you assign the menu, set when it is available for each service. See Schedule menu availability.
Organize and maintain the menu
Use the drag handles beside sections and items to change their order. Keep frequently ordered items easy to find. To rename a section, open its Actions menu and select Rename.
Use Add items to add more products, then save the menu. Removing an item does not delete the Shopify product. If the save dialog offers Shopify inventory choices, select Remove from this menu only to keep it available elsewhere. Remove from this menu and Shopify also deactivates it at the linked Shopify location and can affect other sales channels. Review that choice before confirming.
Product prices and variants come from Shopify. Update those on the Shopify product. Use product options for extras and bundles for meal deals.
Publish or draft the menu
Published menus can appear to customers at assigned locations. Draft menus stay hidden.
On Design a menu:
Set Status to Published or Draft.
Click Save.
From the Menus list you can also select a menu and choose Set as published or Set as draft. Confirm with Set as published or Set as draft.
Check the result
Open your ordering page and choose the location, service, and a time covered by the menu schedule. Confirm the menu, sections, products, and prices are correct. A published menu without products, a location assignment, or an enabled service schedule is not ready for customers.
What customers see
When the menu is Published, assigned, and scheduled, customers can browse its sections and products on your ordering page. They only see it for a service that is enabled on the location menu schedule.
