Configure reservation notifications

Turn on guest and staff emails for reservation requests, confirmations, cancellations, and no-shows.

Written by Andy Cargill

Zapiet Eats can email guests when a table is requested, confirmed, cancelled, or marked as a no-show. Your team can also get an email when a new reservation arrives.

For order emails and sender settings, see Configure notifications.

Before you begin

  • Enable table reservations on at least one location.

  • Add a team email on the location if staff should receive New reservation (internal).

Open reservation emails

  1. In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > Notifications.

  2. Open the Reservations group.

Guest emails

These customer templates are available:

  • Reservation request received: a guest requested a reservation.

  • Reservation confirmed: staff clicked Confirm, or the location confirms automatically.

  • Reservation cancelled: the booking was cancelled or declined.

  • Reservation no show: staff clicked Mark as no show.

  • Reservation payment pending: a deposit is required and not yet paid.

To edit one:

  1. Click the template.

  2. If it is disabled, click Enable notification.

  3. Click Edit code to change Subject and Content.

  4. Click Preview template to check the email. Preserve the template variables needed to show reservation details.

  5. Click Save.

To stop an email, open the template and click Disable notification.

When staff cancel or mark a no-show, they can also choose Send the guest an email about this change.

Staff emails

  1. In Team notifications, open New reservation (internal).

  2. Click Enable notification if it is disabled and the kitchen or host stand should receive new booking emails.

  3. If you edit its subject or content, click Edit code, make the change, and click Save.

Zapiet Eats sends that email to the addresses entered on the location under Team notifications.
