Use Today's inventory on Orders when an item sells out during service or you have a different quantity available today. These controls affect Zapiet Eats availability for the selected location and menu. They do not edit Shopify stock quantities.
For a recurring daily cap, use Set daily inventory limits.
Before you begin
Add products to a menu and assign the menu to your location.
Your staff account needs permission to manage inventory.
Open today's inventory
In Zapiet Eats, go to Orders.
Select one location. Inventory controls need a specific location rather than all locations.
Open Today's inventory.
Select the menu containing the product.
Use the search and availability filter to find the item. If the product has variants, check the variant name before changing its availability.
Mark an item as sold out
Turn off the switch in the item's Availability column. Its status changes to Sold out and the update saves immediately.
To mark several items as sold out, select their checkboxes and click Mark as sold out.
Turn the availability switch back on when the item is available again. This restores its default daily limit, or no limit if it has no configured cap. Check Remaining today if the quantity you actually have is different.
Change the quantity available today
Find an available product or variant.
Click its value in Remaining today.
Choose Specify value and enter the quantity that is still available, not the quantity you started the day with.
Click Save.
For example, if you can make five more portions, enter 5. To restore the configured allowance, select the Default choice and save. That choice shows the daily cap, or No limit when there is no cap.
Open the customer ordering page for the same location, menu, and date to check the result. Changing one location's availability does not change another location's stock.
Shopify stock is separate
Shopify inventory settings still govern the Shopify product and checkout. A stock quantity of zero does not always block a sale: Shopify can allow orders when Continue selling when out of stock is enabled. See Shopify's inventory guidance.
Do not use a Shopify quantity change as a substitute for marking an item sold out in Today's inventory. Check both your Zapiet Eats availability and Shopify inventory policy when investigating an unexpected order.
Settings > Products manages product details such as allergens and dietary restrictions. It is not the inventory screen.
