Data protection is where you choose whether Zapiet can email you about the product, and where you review how Zapiet Eats handles customer data.
Use this when you need to opt in or out of product emails, or when a customer asks you for a copy of their data.
Before you begin
Staff who change these settings need permission for Settings.
Open Data protection
In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > Data protection.
Contact preferences
Under Contact preferences, select I agree to be contacted by e-mail if you want emails about product releases, improvements, and issues.
Clear the checkbox if you do not want those emails.
Click Save.
Click Discard on the save bar if you want to undo an unsaved change.

Data retention
Data retention explains how Zapiet handles customer data in the app.
Zapiet Eats removes sensitive details from order records that are 60 days old or older. Older orders are no longer available in the app. If you need a different arrangement, email [email protected]. Requests are processed within 30 days of the request.
Shopify still holds the matching Shopify order. Use Shopify if you need the long-term order record.
Data requests
When a customer asks Shopify for their data, Zapiet Eats can show the request on this page.
In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > Data protection.
If Data requests is visible, find the request.
Click Download to save the CSV.
If there are no requests, this section is hidden.
