Schedule menu availability

Set when a menu is available for pick-up, delivery, and dine-in at each location.

Written by Andy Cargill

Menu hours are per location and per service. Breakfast can be Pick-up only, while dinner can include Delivery. Customers only see a menu when that service is available at that location.

You set this on the location menu schedule, not on the menu design page.

Before you begin

  • Create a menu and assign it to the location.

  • Enable Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in on the location.

Open the menu schedule

  1. In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.

  2. Open the location from Locations.

  3. In Menus, open the menu.

The page heading shows the location name and the menu name. The Menu schedule section controls when customers can order from this menu.

Set hours for each service

Location menu schedule showing enabled pick-up, selected days of the week, and Pick-up from and Pick-up until controls.

In Menu schedule, turn on the services this menu should offer:

  • Enable store pick-up for this menu

  • Enable delivery for this menu

  • Enable dine-in for this menu

Then set the hours for each enabled service. You can use different days and times for Pick-up, Delivery, and Dine-in.

If the page reports an overlapping menu schedule, adjust the conflicting days or hours before saving. Scheduling options can differ between accounts, so use the warning shown on your menu.

  1. Choose Every day of the week or Specific days of the week under Pick-up availability, Delivery availability, or Dine-in availability. If Specific dates of the year is available, use it for a seasonal or one-off menu.

  2. Set the from and until times for that service, such as Pick-up from and Pick-up until.

  3. Click Save.

Leave a service off if this menu should not be offered for it. For example, keep delivery off on a breakfast menu that is pick-up only.

Reuse pick-up settings for dine-in

If dine-in should follow pick-up, select Same as store pick-up in the dine-in schedule. This also reuses the pick-up blackout dates and future-order rules. Clear it when dine-in needs its own settings, then save the page.

Set preparation time and advance ordering

On the same location menu page:

  1. In Preparation time, enter how much time staff need to prepare orders for each service. Delivery preparation time does not include the journey to the customer.

  2. In Future orders, enable Restrict future orders when customers should only book within a limited number of days, weeks, or months. Enter that range for each applicable service.

  3. Click Save.

Check the customer date and time choices afterward. Preparation time and future-order limits can make a scheduled menu unavailable for a particular requested time.

Limit the number of orders

Use Order limits to control kitchen capacity. These limits count orders; daily inventory limits count products.

  1. Enable order limits.

  2. Choose whether to apply the same limits to all delivery options or different limits per option.

  3. Choose Limit orders per day or, when available, Limit orders per timeslot.

  4. Enter the maximum orders. If your limits vary, use the individual day or timeslot controls.

  5. Click Save.

A full timeslot is hidden from customers. Use positive limits for times you intend to offer, and test the date and service that customers will select.

What customers see

Customers only see this menu when they choose a service that is enabled and available for their selected date and time. If delivery is off for the menu, it does not appear when they order delivery, even if pick-up hours are open.

To close a service on specific dates, use blackout dates instead of deleting the schedule.
