Check app compatibility

Reduce checkout conflicts by using one ordering or delivery app and testing after you install another app.

Written by Andy Cargill

Other checkout, delivery, or cart apps can change the same Shopify checkout Zapiet Eats uses. Two apps that both add rates, rewrite the cart, or control pick-up and delivery can hide options or show the wrong price.

Prefer one ordering or delivery app on the store. If you install another app, place a test order before you take live orders.

What can conflict

Conflicts are more likely when another app also:

  • Adds pick-up, delivery, or shipping rates at checkout

  • Changes the cart or checkout

  • Collects a delivery address or time slot

  • Replaces the add-to-cart or checkout button

Zapiet Eats is built for Pick-up, Delivery, and Dine-in. It does not offer shipping. A shipping app can still conflict if both apps try to control checkout methods. See Shipping is not supported.

Compatibility depends on how the other app is set up.

Use one ordering app

  1. Decide whether Zapiet Eats is the app that should control ordering and local delivery.

  2. Check overlapping cart, scheduling, and checkout settings with Zapiet support before changing another app. Test changes on a test store where possible.

  3. Place a test order. See Place a test order.

If Zapiet Pickup + Delivery is also active, use only one of the two apps for pick-up and local delivery. Both can change the same checkout. See Compare Zapiet Eats and Zapiet Pickup + Delivery.

Test after you install another app

  1. Install or enable the other app.

  2. Open your storefront and start an order in Zapiet Eats.

  3. Confirm the customer can choose a location and Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in.

  4. Confirm checkout shows the Zapiet Eats rate you expect.

  5. Complete a test order and open it on Orders.

If the location picker, time slot, or rate is missing, record the service, location, and steps that reproduce it. On a test store, disable the overlapping feature in the other app and repeat the same test. A change in the result helps isolate the conflict; share it with Zapiet support before changing your live setup.

If you are unsure

Contact Zapiet support with the other app's name and the features you want to use together.
