Pick-up lets customers order ahead and collect from a location. You enable it on the location, click Manage, then set the minimum order, time slots, distance limit, pick-up fee, and order tags.
Shopify pick-up must also be on for the matching Shopify location. Zapiet Eats settings alone are not enough for checkout.
Before you begin
The location already exists. See Create a location.
You can edit the location.
A published menu will need a pick-up schedule before customers can order. See Schedule menu availability.
Enable pick-up
In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.
Open the location.
Find the Pick-up section.
If pick-up is off, click Enable.
Click Manage.
Pick-up shows as enabled. Click Hide settings when you want to collapse the form.
Minimum order value
Set Minimum order value if customers must reach a subtotal before they can pick up. Leave it at zero to allow orders of any value.
Click Save after you change it.
Time slots and pickers
Time slots controls how often customers can select a collection time, for example every 15 minutes.
If Show time picker is available, use it to let customers choose a pick-up time slot. When it is off, no time is requested for pick-up.
Available dates follow the menu schedule. Click Save.
Maximum radius
Distance limit restricts pick-up to customers whose address is within a set distance.
Enable Only offer this option within a set distance.
Enter the distance.
Click Save.
Customers can only choose this location for pick-up if they are inside that radius. Some distance checks use Google Maps. See Create a Google Maps API key.
Pick-up fee
The Fee section sets what customers pay at checkout for pick-up.
How much do you charge for pick-up? is the collection fee. Use zero if pick-up is free.
Checkout rate name is the rate name customers see at checkout.
Enable free pick-up on higher value orders waives the fee when the order reaches the amount you enter.
Click Save.
Do not duplicate this rate in Shopify shipping profiles. The pick-up rate belongs in Zapiet Eats.
Order tags
Order tags add tags to pick-up orders from this location. You can tag orders with the pick-up date, time, or day of week.
Click Save.
Shopify pick-up
If you see Turn on pick-up in Shopify, click Enable pick-up in Shopify. Until Shopify pick-up is on, customers may not complete pick-up checkout.
If the location is missing in Shopify, click Create location in Shopify.
What customers see
On the ordering page or widget, customers choose Pick-up, select this location, and pick an available time when Show time picker is on. At checkout they see your Checkout rate name and any pick-up fee.
Disable pick-up
With settings open, click Disable pick-up if this location should stop offering pick-up. Click Save.
