Delivery lets customers receive orders from a location. You enable it on the location, click Manage, then create delivery zones with an area, minimum order, estimate, and checkout rate.
Delivery rates belong in Zapiet Eats. Do not duplicate them in Shopify shipping profiles.
Before you begin
The location already exists. See Create a location.
The location address and map coordinates are correct. Wrong coordinates change who is in range.
Some delivery area checks use Google Maps. See Create a Google Maps API key.
A published menu will need a delivery schedule before customers can order. See Schedule menu availability.
Enable delivery
In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.
Open the location.
Find the Delivery section.
If delivery is off, click Enable.
Click Manage.
Create a zone
Delivery zones and pricing lists the zones for this location.
Click Create a zone.
Enter a Zone name in the Create a zone window.
Click Create. The zone settings open.
Under Zone details, set the fields below.
Click Save.
Give the zone a memorable Zone name. Customers do not see that name.
Zone details
Minimum order value
Minimum order value is the lowest order total that can use this zone. Leave it at zero to allow delivery on all orders.
Estimate delivery time
Estimate delivery time is how long delivery takes to this zone, in minutes. Customers see this as part of the delivery estimate.
Delivery area
Delivery area decides who can order delivery. Google Maps is used for validation.
Choose one:
Maximum radius uses a straight-line distance from the location.
Maximum driving distance uses driving distance from the location.
Custom delivery area lets you draw the area on the map.
Leave Maximum radius or Maximum driving distance at zero only when you want that zone to stay unrestricted. A zero value does not block delivery. Click Save after you set the area.
Delivery pricing
Delivery pricing sets the checkout fee.
Choose Rate type: Flat fee or Percentage of order value.
Enter the fee or percentage.
Set Rate name. Customers see this at checkout.
Optionally set Rate description. Customers also see this at checkout.
Click Save.
Free delivery
Enable free delivery on higher value orders waives the delivery fee when the order reaches Minimum order value under Free delivery.
Click Save.
Slot frequency and pickers
Back on the location Delivery settings:
Delivery slot frequency controls how often customers can select a delivery time.
If Show time picker is available, it lets customers choose a delivery time slot. When it is off, no time is requested for delivery.
Available dates follow the menu schedule. Click Save.
Order tags
Delivery order tags add tags to delivery orders from this location, such as the delivery date, time, or day of week.
Click Save.
What customers see
On the ordering page or widget, customers choose Delivery and enter an address. Zapiet Eats checks the address against your zones. If the address is in range and meets the minimum, checkout shows your Rate name and fee. Do not also add the same rate in Shopify shipping profiles, or customers can see duplicate charges.
Disable delivery
With settings open, click Disable delivery if this location should stop offering delivery. Click Save.
