Dine-in settings

Manage your preparation time, blackout dates, slot frequency and other settings

Written by Marija

Dine-in settings are specific to each location, so you'll set them up per location after creating a location.

Dine-in settings

Dine-in settings include the number of tables, QR codes, table codes, service fee and order tags.

  1. Click Locations.

  2. Click the location you want to edit.

  3. In the Dine-in section, click Enable.

Dine-in is now enabled for this location and you can access location-specific dine-in settings.

If you already have dine-in enabled for a specific location, click Edit settings to reveal the settings. You can now set up location-specific dine-in settings that will apply to the location you're editing.

Number of tables

In the dine in settings, set the number of tables at this location. Zapiet Eats uses this to generate a QR code for each table.

  1. Add the number of tables.

  2. Click Save.

QR codes

Each table has its own QR code. When a customer scans it, the correct location and table are loaded automatically, so the customer does not need to enter anything to identify their table.

You can download the QR codes in two ways:

  • All tables as a PDF. This downloads every table at once and is suited to printing, for example on A4, and organizing however you like.

  • A single table as a PNG or PDF. This downloads one table at a time as a larger single image or file.

  1. Select a single table or all tables.

  2. Select PDF or PNG.

  3. Click Download.

Table codes

By default, anyone can place a dine in order without scanning a QR code.

To make sure the customer is seated, you can enable table codes:

  • A customer who scans a table's QR code has the location and table loaded automatically and is not asked for a code.

  • A customer who does not scan a QR code is asked to enter a table code in the widget before they can order.

  1. Tick Require a table code.

  2. Click Save.

Service fee

You can add an automatic service fee to dine in orders, for example 10%. The fee is applied to the order and increases as the customer adds more items.

  1. Add a Service fee percentage.

  2. Click Save.

Order tags

You can add tags that will only be applied to orders placed from specific locations.

  1. In the Dine-in tags section, you can enter tag(s) that will be automatically applied to every dine-in order from that location.

    • Tags are case-sensitive. That means that “Dine-in” and “dine-in” are different tags.

    • To add multiple tags you will need to add them one at a time, and click the + Add tag button after each tag.

  2. If you want to add a date tag, select Date.

Select the date format for tags.

  3. If you want to add a time tag,, select Time.

Select the time format for tags.

  4. If you want to add a day of the week tag, select Day.

  5. Click Save.

The tag(s) you have created will be automatically applied to orders placed from this location.
