Once an order is placed, your team needs to act quickly to keep the kitchen and the customer in sync.

Managing live orders

All incoming orders appear in real-time on the Orders dashboard. From here, you can manage the lifecycle of an order:

  • Accept: Confirms the order and triggers the "Order Accepted" email. This tells the customer you've started cooking.

  • Delay: If the kitchen is running behind, use the delay function to send an automated update to the customer with a new time estimate.

  • Reject: If you cannot fulfill an order, you can reject it. You will be prompted to select a predefined cancellation reason (e.g., "Restaurant too busy" or "Item out of stock") which is then shared with the customer.

If you want to accept all orders immediately, you can also enable Automatically accept incoming orders in the restaurant settings.

Kitchen notification system

Zapiet Eats is designed to work collaboratively with your hardware. When an order is accepted, the system can automatically trigger your kitchen printer to generate a "docket." This slip contains all essential details, including:

  • Customer name and contact info.

  • Line items and specific product options.

  • Requested pickup/delivery time and any order notes.
