Update your order statuses and notify your customers

When using Zapiet Eats, we recommend managing your orders in the Zapiet Eats dashboard tab.

We send follow-up emails for pickup and delivery orders, and you can use Shopify shipping confirmation email as an order dispatched notification. Take a look at our Customer facing notifications article for more details.


Pickup orders

There are three possible buttons to mark your pickup orders:

  1. Accept order
    If you have Manually accept incoming orders enabled in your restaurant settings, you can accept, delay or reject the order.

    • If you accept the order, this option will trigger the Order accepted email notification.

    • If you delay the order, this option will trigger the Order accepted email notification, which will include the updated delayed timing.

    • If you reject the order, this option will trigger the Order declined email notification. Read more about rejected orders.

  2. Mark as ready for pickup
    The order should be marked as ready for pickup when you've prepared it.

    • This option will trigger the Order ready for pickup email notification.

  3. Mark as picked up
    The order should be marked as picked up when the customer has picked up the order.

    • This option will trigger the Order picked up email notification.

After you've marked the order as picked up, it will be marked as completed in Zapiet Eats.


Delivery orders

There are three possible buttons to mark your delivery orders:

  1. Accept order
    If you have Manually accept incoming orders enabled in your restaurant settings, you can accept, delay or reject the order.

    • If you accept the order, this option will trigger the Order accepted email notification.

    • If you delay the order, this option will trigger the Order accepted email notification, which will include the updated delayed timing.

    • If you reject the order, this option will trigger the Order declined email notification. Read more about rejected orders.

  2. Mark as out for delivery
    The order should be marked as ready for delivery when you've prepared it.
    This option will trigger the Out for delivery email notification.

  3. Mark as delivered
    The order should be marked as picked up when the order has been delivered.
    This option will trigger the Order delivered email notification.

After you've marked the order as delivered, it will be marked as completed in Zapiet Eats.


Fulfilment in Shopify

After the order has been marked as picked up or out for delivery, Zapiet Eats will automatically fulfil the order in Shopify.

The order will be fulfilled from your default location, or according to your Shopify priority rules.


Rejected orders

If you have Manually accept incoming orders enabled, then you have the option to reject orders.

If you reject the order, you will need to select a reason why—you can configure reasons in the Cancellations settings.

After selecting a reason for the cancellation, you will also need to Confirm cancellation.

Upon cancelling an order on Eats, the order will be cancelled in Shopify and the customer will automatically be refunded, if they've already paid. This action cannot be undone.
This option will trigger the Order declined email notification.


Notes

  • You can check the order timeline to see which team member have changed the order status, and the time stamps.


Limitations

  • Orders cannot be updated in bulk.

  • Order status changes cannot be reverted.
