A simple checklist to help you get your restaurant ready for its very first order

Pre-Live Checklist

  1. Understand the workflow: Review the initial setup guides to understand how the app interacts with your Shopify store and kitchen operations.

  2. Configure restaurant locations: Ensure your physical restaurant locations are created and the basic settings (contact info, address) are accurate.

  3. Create your menus: Build out your digital menus, ensuring all products are correctly synced from your Shopify collections.

  4. Define menu availability: Set the specific days and times each menu is available for order, and distinguish between pickup and delivery schedules.

  5. Set delivery and pickup boundaries: Configure your delivery zones (using radius or custom zones) and pickup settings to ensure you only receive orders you can fulfill.

  6. Enable the digital storefront widget: Integrate the Zapiet Eats widget into your Shopify theme so customers can actually see and select their ordering options.

  7. Review order management procedures: Familiarize yourself and your staff with the process of accepting, declining, and managing live orders as they come in.

  8. Perform a soft launch (Test order): Place at least one test order as a customer to verify that the widget, checkout process, and order notifications are working correctly.

Completing these steps ensures that the first real customer order is handled smoothly from the moment it is placed until it is handed to the customer.
