Before serving your first real customer, it is vital to perform a test order to ensure your technical setup from the widget to the printer is perfect.

Test order checklist

Follow these steps to verify your workflow:

  1. Create a test discount: In Shopify, create a 100% discount code labeled TEST.

  2. Place a storefront order: Visit your live site and place an order as a customer. Make sure to test different scenarios, such as a "Lunch Menu" item or a specific delivery zone.

  3. Verify the widget: Confirm that delivery zones, minimum order values, and time slots appear exactly as configured.

  4. Check the dashboard: Confirm the order appears instantly in the Zapiet Eats Orders tab.

  5. Monitor the output: Confirm the kitchen docket prints clearly and that the customer receives the "Order Confirmation" email with the correct pickup or delivery details.

Running this "dry run" helps you catch small configuration errors or printer connectivity issues before you open your doors to the public.
