Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery sends customer-facing and internal SMS notifications about order status changes. Learn more in our Order management article.
Each SMS is billed at $0.05/each. All notifications will be sent from a US phone number.
Charges are calculated daily—you can view your usage charges in Settings > Subscriptions > View usage charges > SMS charges.

US stores
Due to different requirements for stores located in the US, after you enable customer SMS notifications, a checkbox will be added to the cart widget. This will allow your customers to choose if they want to receive SMS notifications.
SMS notifications for US stores are available only for orders created through the Online store (draft orders and POS orders are currently not supported).

Order ready for pickup
We send an Order ready for pickup SMS when the order is marked as ready for pickup in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.
You can preview and edit your Order ready for pickup SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Customer notifications > Store pickup, click Show.
Click Order ready for pickup.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.
In order to see how this notification will look for your customers, place a pickup test order. Then mark it as Ready for pickup in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

Order picked up
We send an Order picked up SMS when the order is marked as picked up in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.
You can preview and edit your Order picked up SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Customer notifications > Store pickup, click Show.
Click Order picked up.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.
In order to see how this notification will look for your customers, place a pickup test order. Mark it as Ready for pickup, then Mark as picked up in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

Ready for delivery
We send a Ready for delivery SMS when the order is marked as ready for delivery in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

Out for delivery
We send an Out for delivery SMS when the order is marked as dispatched in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.
You can preview and edit your Out for delivery SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Customer notifications > Local delivery, click Show.
Click Out for delivery.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.

Order delivered
We send an Order delivered SMS when the order is marked as delivered in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.
You can preview and edit your Order delivered SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Customer notifications > Local delivery, click Show.
Click Order Delivered.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.
In order to see how this notification will look for your customers, place a delivery test order. Mark it as Ready for delivery, Mark as dispatched, then Mark as delivered in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

CSS for the customer consent checkbox
The checkbox may need some CSS depending on your theme. If the text and checkbox are not aligned, follow the steps below to fix it.
In Settings, click Developers.
Copy the code below and paste it into Custom Styles.

The checkbox should now be aligned correctly with the text, and your customers can opt in to SMS notifications.
Internal SMS notifications

Internal notifications are location and delivery method specific. You need to specify the phone number(s) that should receive them.
Add phone number for pickup orders
Click Locations.
Select the location you would like to receive internal notifications from.
To receive internal SMS notifications for pickup orders, in Store pickup section, click Edit settings.
In the Internal notifications section, enter the phone number(s) that should receive this location's internal pickup SMS notifications.
Ensure you include the country code when entering phone numbers.
Click Save.
Repeat this process for the rest of your locations.
Add phone number for delivery orders
Click Locations.
Select the location you would like to receive internal notifications from.
To receive internal SMS notifications for delivery orders, in Local Delivery section, click Edit settings.
In the Internal notifications section, enter the phone number(s) that should receive this location's internal delivery SMS notifications.
Ensure you include the country code when entering phone numbers.
Click Save.
Repeat this process for the rest of your locations.
New pickup order
We send a New pickup order SMS when a new pickup order is placed.
You can preview and edit your New pickup order SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Internal notifications > Store pickup, click Show.
Click New pickup order.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.
In order to see how this notification will look for your staff members, place a pickup test order.
Your New pickup order SMS notification should look similar to the one below.
Updated pickup order
We send an Updated pickup order SMS when an order's pickup details are updated in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.
This notification will not be sent when the order's details, items, or delivery address is updated in Shopify > Orders.
You can preview and edit your Updated pickup order SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Internal notifications > Store pickup, click Show.
Click Updated pickup order.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.

We send a New delivery order SMS when a new delivery order is placed.

Updated delivery order
We send an Updated delivery order SMS when an order's delivery details are updated in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.
This notification will not be sent when the order's details, items, or delivery address is updated in Shopify > Orders.
You can preview and edit your Updated delivery order SMS notification.
In Settings > Notifications > Internal notifications > Local delivery, click Show.
Click Updated delivery order.
Click SMS.
Click Enable SMS.
Click Edit code to customize the text of this SMS notification, if needed.

Disable notifications
If you don't want to send SMS notifications, you can disable them.
Click Settings, then Notifications.
Click on the notification you'd like to disable.
Click SMS.
Click Disable notification.
This notification will now be disabled.
Limitations
When you send an SMS message containing more than 160 characters, the message is split into smaller messages for transmission.
For example, a 161-character message will be sent as two messages: one with 153 characters and a second with 8 characters.
In this case, you will be billed for two SMS notifications.
