Changing the wording in the widget

Edit the pickup, delivery, and shipping text in the widget

All the text in the Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery widget can be customized through the Text and Design settings.


Change wording for pickup

You can change all the wording related to Store pickup in our Text and design settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Text and Design.

  2. Under Pickup widget, click Show.

  3. Find the text you want to edit. For example: Please select a pickup location.

  4. Adjust this text according to your business needs.

  5. Click Save.

The text you've changed will now appear in the widget.


Change wording for delivery

You can change all the wording related to Local delivery in our Text and design settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Text and Design.

  2. Under Delivery widget, click Show.

  3. Find the text you want to edit. For example: Local Delivery.

  4. Adjust this text according to your business needs.

  5. Click Save.

The text you've changed will now appear in the widget.


Change wording for shipping

You can change all the wording related to Shipping in our Text and design settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Text and Design.

  2. Under Shipping widget, click Show.

  3. Find the text you want to edit. For example: Please click the checkout button to continue.

  4. Adjust this text according to your business needs.

  5. Click Save.

The text you've changed will now appear in the widget.


Calendar widget

You can change all the wording related to Calendar widget in our Text and design settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Text and Design.

  2. Under Calendar widget, click Show.

  3. Find the text you want to edit. For example: Mon.

  4. Adjust this text according to your business needs.

  5. Click Save.

The text you've changed will now appear in the widget.


Notes

  • Trial and error: Since the location of the text may vary by theme, you may need to use trial and error to identify the correct line to edit within your locale files.

  • Theme-specific variations: The exact process or file location might differ depending on the theme you’re using. Refer to your theme documentation or contact support if needed.

  • Backup files: Before editing any files, create a backup in case you need to revert the changes.


Examples

Customizing error messages

If you'd like to update the error message that appears when customers attempt to use pickup, but it’s not available in their region, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings

    • Go to Zapiet settings > Text and Design.

  2. Locate the Pickup Widget Error Message

    • Under the Pickup widget, find the “region” error message text.

  3. Make Changes

    • Modify the error message text according to your preferences to make it more informative or aligned with your brand.

    • Save the changes.

  4. Verify Updates

    • Test the functionality to ensure the updated error message now appears as expected for customers attempting pickup in unsupported regions.


Customizing pickup address text

To modify pickup address-related text and potentially prevent customers from making changes to the pickup address during checkout, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the theme locale file: Identify the relevant locale file for your theme, such as en-CA.json. The locale file contains the text used throughout your store, including pickup address messaging.

  2. Edit the pickup address section

    • Open the locale file.

    • Search for the text related to the pickup address section. The exact line to edit will vary depending on your theme, so be prepared to experiment with different lines until the desired wording is located and altered.

  3. Save and test changes

    • After editing, save the locale file.

    • Preview your store’s checkout process to ensure the updated wording appears as expected.
