Blackout dates stop customers from choosing those dates for the services you select. Use them for holidays, closures, or days the kitchen cannot fulfil orders.
You can add a blackout date on a location menu for Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in. From Locations, you can apply the same Pick-up and Delivery dates to several locations at once. Dine-in dates stay on each location menu.
Before you begin
The location exists. See Create a location.
Each location you include already has at least one menu. Blackout dates are stored on menus.
Menu hours still control ordinary opening times. See Schedule menu availability.
Add blackout dates on a location
In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.
Open the location.
Open a menu attached to the location.
Open Blackout dates.
Select the service tab: Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in.
Choose the date to block.
Click Add date.
Click Save.
Customers cannot pick those dates for that service at this location. Repeat for each service you need to close.
If dine-in uses the same settings as pick-up, dine-in follows the pick-up blackout dates.
To reopen a blocked date, remove it from the same service’s Blackout dates list and click Save. The menu’s regular schedule still determines whether that date has available times.
These dates control orders. Reservation closures are separate; use Blackout dates in the location’s Reservations settings. See Configure reservation settings.
Add blackout dates in bulk
In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.
Select the locations.
Click Add blackout dates.
Under Services, select Pick-up, Delivery, or both. These dates apply only to the services you select.
Under How to apply, choose Append dates or Replace dates.
Append dates adds the new dates to existing blackout dates.
Replace dates removes existing blackout dates and replaces them with your selection.
Add the dates.
Click Add dates.
The dates are added to all menus on the selected locations. Locations with no menu are skipped.
To close dine-in on a date, add that date on the location menu Dine-in blackout tab.
What customers see
On the ordering page or widget, blackout dates do not appear as available pick-up, delivery, or dine-in dates for the services you selected. Customers can still order on other dates that the menu schedule allows.
