Dine-in lets guests order from their table using QR codes. You enable it on the location, set how many tables you have, choose when customers pay, and download table QR codes.
Menu hours for dine-in are not set on this screen. See Schedule menu availability.
Before you begin
The location already exists. See Create a location.
You know how many tables should receive a QR code.
A published menu will need a dine-in schedule before guests can order.
Enable dine-in
In Zapiet Eats, go to Locations.
Open the location.
Find the Dine-in section.
If dine-in is off, click Enable.
Click Manage.
When customers pay
If When customers pay is available on your account, it controls checkout.
Pay now at checkout sends customers to Shopify checkout immediately.
Pay later at the table sends the order to the kitchen so staff can collect payment at the table.
Click Save.
Service fee
If Service fee percentage is available, enter the percentage to add to dine-in orders, then click Save. Use zero when you do not charge a dine-in service fee. Check a test order before offering dine-in to customers so you can confirm the charge.
Table QR codes
Table QR codes are how guests start a dine-in order.
Set Number of tables.
Click Save if you changed the table count. Save before you download.
Under Table QR codes, choose All tables or a specific table.
Choose a Format (PDF or PNG). PNG requires a specific table.
Click Download.
Print the codes and place one on each table. Customers scan a code to start ordering at that table.
If Require a table code is available, guests who do not scan must type the code printed on the QR sheet. Scanned QR codes still work without typing.
What customers see
A guest scans the table QR code, sees the dine-in menu for this location, and places an order. With Pay now at checkout, they pay in Shopify. With Pay later at the table, the kitchen receives the order and staff collect payment at the table.
Dine-in availability follows the menu schedule for dine-in, not the QR download screen.
Disable dine-in
With settings open, click Disable dine-in if this location should stop offering table ordering. Click Save.
