Place a test order the same way a customer would. Use the ordering page or the widget, choose an enabled service, complete checkout when the service requires it, then find the order on Orders.
A test order confirms that your location, service, menu, and storefront are connected before you go live.
Before you begin
You have at least one location with Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in enabled.
A published menu with products is attached to that location and available for the service and fulfilment date you will test.
The ordering page or widget is available on your storefront.
If you offer pick-up, pick-up is also enabled for the matching location in Shopify.
If you offer dine-in, you have a table QR code or can choose Dine-in on the ordering page. See Configure dine-in.
Your Shopify store can complete a test payment when the service sends the customer to checkout, such as a Shopify Bogus Gateway or a test card your payment provider supports.
Place the order
Open your Zapiet Eats ordering page, or open a theme page that shows the widget. For dine-in, you can also scan a table QR code.
Choose Pick-up, Delivery, or Dine-in.
Select a location. For pick-up or delivery, select an available date and time. For dine-in, use the table from the QR code or enter the table code if asked.
Add a product from your menu to the cart.
Continue to Shopify checkout when the service asks for payment now. For dine-in Pay later at the table, send the order without taking payment in Shopify.
Complete checkout with a test payment if the store supports it and the service requires payment now.
Shopify creates the order when payment is taken at checkout. Zapiet Eats receives the pick-up, delivery, or dine-in details.
Use a small cart and a product you can fulfil. If the order is only a test, cancel it after checking the flow and refund any real payment where appropriate. Cancellation or refund does not guarantee that the order disappears from reports.
Find the order in Zapiet Eats
In Zapiet Eats, go to Orders.
Open the test order.
If the location reviews orders before accepting, click Accept order.
If the location accepts orders automatically, the order is already accepted and you can prepare it.
Confirm the location, service, date, time or table, and products match what you selected on the storefront.
If you do not see the order
Confirm checkout finished and Shopify created an order, unless you used dine-in Pay later at the table.
Check that you are viewing the same location on Orders.
Confirm the menu was published and available for the service and time you chose.
If you used pick-up, confirm Shopify pick-up is on for that location.
