Pickup order limits

Pickup order limits let you restrict the number of pickup orders you can receive per day, or per slot.

How the limits are set up will depend on the type of pickup slots you're using:


Requirements

  • You need to be on the Advanced plan or higher with Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

  • You need to have the pickup date and/or time picker enabled. You can enable it in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery > Locations > Store Pickup Settings > Date and time pickers.

  • To use pickup slot limits, your store needs to be on widget versions 1 or 2. Take a look at our Widget version of the widget am I using? article to determine which version you are on.


Set pickup order limits by frequency

If you're using pickup slots by frequency, you can set your order limits per day or per slot. By default, this setting is set to no limits.

  1. Click Locations.

  2. Click the location name you would like to add the limits to.

  3. In the Store pickup section, click Edit settings.

  4. In the Pickup order limits section, No pickup order limits option is selected by default.

When using pickup slots by frequency, pickup order limits can be set to:


Limit the number of pickup orders per day

  1. Under Pickup order limits, select Limit number of pickup orders per day. By default the maximum number of orders will be set to 0.

  2. You can add the maximum number of orders you want to receive for each day you have pickup enabled.

  3. Click Save.

The number of pickup orders will now be limited per day for this location.

If you have multiple pickup locations, please repeat this process in each of your locations.


Check the pickup daily limit report

  1. Click the reports icon next to the daily limits for a specific day.

  2. Select a date in the calendar. In this example, we'll use Monday.

  3. The report will show all the orders made for that day and note the number of remaining slots.


Limit the number of pickup orders per time slot

  1. In Pickup order limits section, select Limit number of pickup orders per time slot.

  2. You can now add the maximum number of pickup orders you want to receive per slot.

  3. Click Save.

The number of pickup orders will now be limited per slot for this location.

If you have multiple pickup locations, please repeat this process in each of your locations.


Check the pickup slot limit report

  1. Click the reports icon next to the slot limit.

  2. Select a date in the calendar and the time. In this example, we'll use Monday.

  3. The report will show all the orders made for that time slot on that day and note the number of remaining slots.


Set pickup order limits by custom slots

If you're using custom pickup slots, you can only set your order limits per slot. By default, order limits are disabled.

  1. Click Locations.

  2. Click the location name you would like to add the limits to.

  3. In the Store pickup section, click Edit settings.

  4. In Pickup slots section, you will see the option to Limit number of orders per pickup slot.

When using custom pickup slots, pickup order limits can be set to:

Limiting orders per day is not supported.


Limit number of orders per pickup slot

  1. In Pickup slots section, tick Limit number of orders per pickup slot.

  2. You can now add the maximum number of pickup orders you want to receive per slot.

  3. If you offer different pickup time slots, then repeat this process for every day of the week.

  4. Click Save.

The number of pickup orders will now be limited per slot for this location.

If you have multiple pickup locations, please repeat this process in each of your locations.


Check the pickup slot limit report

  1. Click the reports icon next to the slot limit you want to check.

  2. Select a date in the calendar. In this example, we'll use Monday.

  3. The report will show all the orders made for that time slot on that day and note the number of remaining slots.


Notes

  • Cancelled/deleted orders do not count toward order limits.

  • Editing the order's date, time, and location will update the limits.


Limitations

  • If you're using pickup slots by frequency, the pickup slot limits apply to all of your pickup slots. If you want to limit orders per slot, you need to use custom pickup slots.

  • If you're using custom pickup slots, the pickup slot limits apply to a certain pickup slot. If you want to limit orders per day, you need to use pickup slots by frequency.

  • Orders will be counted towards the limits only if they have our attributes (if not, the order will not appear in the Zapiet dashboard).

  • Your maximum order limit may be exceeded:

    • If multiple customers are checking out at the same time, it's possible that they both select the last available slot for a given day.

    • If you are using abandoned checkout email notifications. Make sure to follow our Abandoned checkout emails article to avoid this issue.
