API and MCP is for developers and support tools. Create an API token to call the Zapiet Eats API. Use the MCP server details to connect an AI client. Developers holds advanced account settings such as custom CSS.
Treat every token as a secret. Anyone with a token can use the access you granted.
Before you begin
Staff need the API and MCP permission to manage tokens, or Settings for Developers.
Only create tokens for people and systems you trust.
Create an API token
In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > API and MCP.
Click Create API token.
Enter a Token name.
If access-level choices are available, choose Catalog read access or Full API access. Review the access described on the page before continuing.
Click Create API token.
Copy the token from Your new API token. You will not see it again.
When Catalog read access is available, it is selected initially and allows reading published menus, products, and customizations. Full API access grants broader account access. If the page offers only full access, every token you create has that access; use it only for trusted server integrations.
If you lose the token, click Revoke, then create a new one.
Connect an MCP client
In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > API and MCP.
Under Connect your AI agent, select your client’s tab.
Follow the instructions and copy the configuration, command, or server URL shown for that client. The page includes tabs for Cursor, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Windsurf, and ChatGPT.
MCP clients sign in with OAuth. You do not create an API token for that connection.
Advanced developer settings
In Zapiet Eats, go to Settings > Developers.
Change only the fields you need, such as Custom styles.
Click Save.
