The Rates API lets you get the same shipping rates Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code shows at Shopify checkout, but from your own systems. Use it to show rates in a custom draft-order dashboard, a custom cart or a headless storefront.
Each request is a live quote based on your current zones, zip codes and rates, so the price matches what customers see at checkout.

Before you start
The API is for developers. Requests must come from your server, not from your theme, a browser or a mobile app.
Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code must stay installed with an active subscription. The API quotes your existing rates; it doesn't replace the app at checkout.
The API returns rate quotes only. It doesn't list or change your zones, zip codes or rates.
Get an API key
Go to Settings
On the Rates API section click Generate API key
Copy the key and store it somewhere safe.
The key is shown only once, so copy it before you close the window. You can rotate or revoke your key from the same section at any time.
If we issued you a key through the chat before, you’ll find it there already.
