Loop Subscriptions simplifies the process of offering subscription services on Shopify, allowing you to generate recurring revenue while providing customers with a convenient way to purchase products or services on a subscription basis.

Please note, the integration was built by the Loop Subscriptions team and is currently in early access mode.

Requirements

  • Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS) is required when using subscription apps, in order to show the correct rates at the checkout [Shopify limitation].

    • Shopify will always try to load the cheapest rate (regardless of the delivery option that was selected) and Zapiet will hide the rate if it doesn't match the option selected in the widget.

    • For example, if you offer free pickup and $10 fee for delivery, the pickup rate will show correctly, but no rates will show for delivery orders.

  • The Shopify Carrier Service API is required when using subscription apps if you're offering multiple delivery methods (e.g., store pickup and local delivery), or have one method and offer more than one rate for the same price/weight conditions.

    • If you only offer one shipping rate, you can use Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery rates, without the Carrier Service API.

    • This means you cannot use location-based rates, and if you offer multiple shipping options for the same price/weight conditions, only the cheapest will show.

  • You need to disable all the customer facing notifications for pickup and for delivery sent by Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

Enable the integration in Loop subscriptions

Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery is partially compatible with Loop subscriptions using the Shopify Subscriptions API (Shopify checkout compatible apps). This means that you can use both apps on your store, but there are limitations.

Dates will not be incremented by default on future orders. To enable this feature, follow the Loop Subscriptions integration guide. With this feature enabled, any subsequent orders that are auto-generated by Loop subscriptions have the correct future date only in the Shopify > Orders tab.

Limitations

  • If you're using the checkout widget and a customer adds a subscription and a non-subscription product to the cart, the widget will show twice [Shopify limitation].

  • Incremented dates for subscription orders will only appear in the Shopify > Orders tab.

    • Orders in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery will show the original delivery date.

  • Rates will not work correctly if you're using Loop subscriptions with Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery rates and offering multiple methods or rates (not recommended).

    • Shopify will always try to load the cheapest rate (regardless of the method that was selected) and Zapiet will hide the rate if it doesn't match the option selected in the widget.

    • For example, if you offer free pickup and $10 fee for delivery, the pickup rate will show correctly, and no rates will show for delivery.
