Your menu is more than just a list of items; it is a dynamic tool that changes throughout the day. This guide explains how to manage time-based availability and set different restrictions based on your business needs.

To access the following settings, navigate to Restaurants > Menus, then select the menu you would like to edit.

Define blackout dates

Blackout dates are essential for holidays or scheduled maintenance when the kitchen is closed. These dates are configured individually for each menu within your restaurant settings, ensuring that customers cannot place orders when your team is away.

  1. In the Blackout dates section, select specific dates or a range of dates on the calendar.

  2. These dates will be blocked out in the customer-facing widget, preventing orders from being placed on those days.

Product date restrictions

You can set specific dates when certain products are not available for orders. This is particularly useful for seasonal items or dishes that are only prepared on specific days.

  1. Find Product date restrictions.

  2. Select the calendar dates when the product should be available or hidden.

  3. This ensures customers can only order items when you have the fresh ingredients or staff available to prepare them.

Future orders

Managing the flow also means controlling your upcoming calendar. The Future Orders setting allows you to prevent customers from selecting pickup or delivery dates too far in the future.

  • If you only want to accept orders for the current week, you can limit the date picker to a specific number of days (e.g., 7 days).

  • This helps the kitchen focus on immediate demand and prevents logistics issues with orders placed weeks or months in advance.

Set preparation times

Preparation time is the buffer you need to get an order ready.

  1. Locate the Preparation Time field.

  2. Enter your standard time (e.g., 20 minutes).

  3. Dynamic Adjustments: During busy shifts, like a Friday night, you can manually increase this to 45 minutes to give your team more breathing room. This update reflects on the storefront in real-time.

Set daily limits

You can set a maximum daily sales limit for each of your products.

For detailed instructions on managing these limits, please refer to our Daily inventory article.

  1. Click Restaurants, then click the name of the restaurant you want to edit.

  2. Click the name of the menu you want to add product limits to.

  3. Click Add product limits.
