Uber Direct is a last-mile delivery solution which offers fast and reliable local delivery for your Shopify orders. By integrating with Uber Direct, you can use the Uber Direct courier network in France.

Requirements

  • You need to be on the Essential plan or higher with Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery.

  • Your store must be located in France.

  • You must have our delivery date and time picker enabled.

    • Enable this in Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery > Settings > Local Delivery.

    • Delivery slots must be at least an hour long (e.g. 9:00AM-10:00AM, 2:00PM-5:00PM).

  • You need to set your maximum driving distance to 7 kilometres, as Uber Direct France will only deliver within 7 kilometres from your store.

  • You need to add weight to your products.

Before you can set up integration with Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery, you must contact Uber Direct to discuss pricing plans and sign the contract. After that, please email us at [email protected] and we will help you complete the setup process.

Activate Uber Direct

  1. Open Settings and click Last mile delivery.

  2. Click Activate Uber Direct France.

  3. Enter your Uber Direct client ID and Uber Direct client secret, then click Activate Uber Direct.

Uber Direct has now been activated—to finish setting up, you need to configure your settings.

Configure settings

  1. Enter your Uber Direct Customer ID.

  2. In the Undeliverable action section, select your preferred action if a package cannot be delivered.

  3. You can set it to Leave at the door, Return or Discard.

  4. Add a support email address.
This will be used to notify you if there is an error when scheduling an order.

  5. Select the locations Uber Direct should handle deliveries for.
Not all locations need to be selected if you're using more than one delivery service.

  6. For all ticked locations, you need to add a contact name and a valid contact phone number.

  7. You can choose to add tracking details to each order and send tracking details to customers. With this setting enabled, your orders will automatically be fulfilled in Shopify.

  8. Click Save.

Orders should now be sent to Uber Direct when they are created. If you are creating test orders, make sure your pickup and delivery addresses are different.

Configure rates

You can use Uber Direct rates or Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery rates for your local deliveries.

Uber Direct rates

Requirements

  • All products that require shipping need to be marked as a Physical product in Shopify.

  • Your store will need access to the Carrier Service API, and Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery will need to be added as a carrier to your domestic shipping profile.

For any questions about the rate value, please contact Uber Direct support - we only show the rates they generate.

  1. Add the rate name, and a description if needed.

  2. If you would like to offer free delivery over a certain value:

    • Tick the free delivery option.

    • Add the minimum order value over which delivery should be free

  3. If needed, add a handling fee and click Save.
You can read more about handling fees in our Calculating handling fees article.

  4. Go to the Rates tab.

    • If you're using Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery rates, in the Delivery prices section, expand the menu and click Delete to remove all delivery rates. Then, click Save.

    • If you're using rates with Carrier Service API, in the Delivery section, click Disable delivery rates. Then, click Confirm, disable rates and Save.

Your local delivery rates will only be generated by Uber Direct now.

If you are creating test orders, make sure your pickup and delivery addresses are different.

Disable Uber Direct

If you would like to stop using Uber Direct, you can disable it.

  1. Open Settings and click Last mile delivery.

  2. Find Uber Direct France and click Configure settings.

  3. Click Disable Uber Direct France.
