To set up your rates, you need to create delivery location(s). We'll use the location's address as a starting point when calculating your delivery rates.
If you are integrating Zapiet - Rates by Distance with Zapiet - Pickup + Delivery, you still need to create delivery locations in Zapiet - Rates by Distance.
Requirements
The Carrier Service API is required when using Zapiet - Rates by Distance, in order to show the rates in the checkout. You can learn more in our Shopify Carrier API guide.
Create your first location
In Zapiet - Rates by Distance, click Locations and rates.
Click Create location.
Enter the location name and address.
If you want to set up a maximum delivery rate, set Rate price limit to Yes.
Set the Maximum delivery rate according to your business needs.
Maximum delivery rate will ensure that your customers will not pay more than X amount for delivery.
For example, your price per km is £3. Customer's address is 22 km away from your store. Your maximum delivery rate is set to £50.
Normally, your customer would pay £66 for delivery, but according to your maximum delivery rate they will only pay £50.
Zapiet - Rates by Distance will calculate the latitude and longitude by default.
If needed, you can manually set the location’s latitude and longitude. This will ensure that delivery is being calculated from the correct point on the map.
Set the location's latitude and longitude.
You can use Google Maps to determine the correct values.
Click Create location.
Repeat this process to create as many delivery locations as needed.
