Pickup only mode provides a faster checking out experience to stores that only offer store pickup.

With this mode, both Shopify and Store Pickup + Delivery will see your products as digital. Since digital products don't require shipping address or the rates page, those pages are removed from the checkout process.

When your customers click "Check out", they will go straight to the Billing address page.

To enable the pickup only mode you will need to

  1. Mark all of your products as digital.

  2. Disable the Prepopulate shipping address fields setting.

  3. Disable the Hide widget when cart contains only digital items setting.

Requirement

  • You need to offer only Store pickup on your store

Mark your products as digital

  1. In your Shopify admin, click Products.

  2. Select all products (Select all 50+ products in your store if you have more than 50 products).

  3. Click Edit products.

  4. Click Add fields.

  5. Find the Requires shipping field and click on it.

  6. This will add another filter to your products. Un-check all the Requires shipping boxes.

  7. Click Save.

Disable settings in Store Pickup + Delivery

  1. In Store Pickup + Delivery, click the Settings tab.

  2. Click Store Pickup.

  3. Disable the Prepopulate shipping address fields setting.
Disabling this setting will make sure we don't load our checkout URL in the checkout.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Click the Settings tab.

  6. Click Developers.

  7. Disable the Hide widget when cart contains only digital items setting.
Disabling this setting will make sure our widget shows for your products which are now marked as digital.

  8. Click Save.

You checkout flow should look similar to the video below.

Limitations

This mode is not compatible with

  • Local delivery or Shipping options, as it removes the delivery/shipping address fields, and the rates page.

  • Third-party sales channels like Facebook, or Instagram.

  • Automatic discount codes for pickup added in Store Pickup + Delivery > Settings > Store pickup.
