You need to create product groups in order to set up your rates.
A product can be added to only one group at a time. You cannot add the same product to several groups.
Requirements
The Carrier Service API is required when using Zapiet - Product Rates, in order to show the rates in the checkout. You can learn more in our Shopify Carrier API guide.
All non-digital products need to be marked as a physical product in Shopify.
Every product group needs to contain a unique set of products.
Create your first product group
For example, you would like to charge more to deliver fragile items.
Click Products and rates.
Click Create a custom product group.
Add a Group name.
In the products section, you can add:
Specific products
In the Products section, product availability is set to Specific products by default. Click Add products.
Tick the items that should be added to this group of products.
A product can be added to only one group at a time. You cannot add the same product to several groups.
Click Add.
Click Create group.
Repeat this process to create as many product groups as needed.
Specific collections
In the Products section, click Specific collections.
Click Add collections.
Tick the collections that should be added to this group.
If your products belong to multiple collections, you will not be able to add those collections to different product groups.
Manual and automated collections are supported.
Click Add.
Click Create group.
Repeat this process to create as many product groups as needed.
Specific tags
In the Products section, select Specific tags.
Click Add tag.
Tick the tags that should be added to this group.
If you want to use tags that are not on the list, create them in Shopify first.
If your products belong to multiple tags, you will not be able to add those tags to different product groups.
Click Add.
Click Save.
Repeat this process to create as many product groups as needed.
Specific product types
In the Products section, select Specific product types.
Click Add product type.
Tick the product types that should be added to this group.
If you want to use product types that are not on the list, create them in Shopify first.
If your products belong to multiple product types, you will not be able to add those product types to different product groups.
Click Add.
Click Save.
Repeat this process to create as many product groups as needed.
Specific vendors
In the Products section, select Specific vendors.
Click Add vendor.
Tick the vendors that should be added to this group.
If you want to use vendors that are not on the list, create them in Shopify first.
If your products belong to multiple vendors, you will not be able to add those vendors to different product groups.
Click Add.
Click Save.
Repeat this process to create as many product groups as needed.
