Zapiet - Product Rates allows you to add product specific rates. The rate consists of:
Rate per product group
Default product rate (per product for the rest of your products)
Base fee (for the whole cart)
For example, when adding a specific rate for your fragile items, you also need to add a rate for the rest of your products. You can set up a per product rate, a base fee for the whole cart, or use both.
Requirements
The Carrier Service API is required when using Zapiet - Product Rates, in order to show the rates in the checkout. You can learn more in our Shopify Carrier API guide.
You need to create a product group before adding the rates.
All physical products need to be marked as This product requires shipping in Shopify.
In this example, we want to add a £5 fee for shipping flowers. The rest of our products will have a £3 shipping rate, but we also want to add a handling fee of £2 for the whole cart.

Once the products are added to the cart, these fees will be combined.
Product group rate + Default product rate + Base fee = Total rate
Product group rate
The shipping rate for each item within a specific group.
In Zapiet - Product Rates, click Product and Rates.
Click on the product group you want to edit.
Add a Shipping fee for this product group.
Click Save.
Default product rate
The shipping rate for each product not added to a specific product group.
In Zapiet - Product Rates, click Products and rates.
Tick Add a shipping rate per product.
Add a shipping rate.
Click Save changes.
Base fee
The base shipping rate will be applied to all orders.
In Zapiet - Product Rates, click Product and Rates.
Add Base shipping fee.
Click Save changes.
Add a rate name
Customize your rate name and description. It will be visible to your customers in checkout.
In Zapiet - Product Rates, click Products and rates.
Add Rate name and Rate description, if needed.
Click Save changes.
